OTRANTO - Protected to the west by the Idro Valley and the Valley of Memories, Otranto, Italy's easternmost city, lies. A border town and hub of trade, for centuries it has welcomed travelers, pilgrims, and merchants who have left traces of their passage. After a careful analysis of the sites and their associated symbols, Otranto Culture APS is promoting the brand-new "fORME" tour, a journey back in time where history comes to life, plants speak, and humanity rediscovers its origins. Accompanied by Luca, a renowned environmental and hiking guide, we will cross Otranto's two valleys to discover cave settlements and tell stories of peoples, footprints, and shapes.
Step by step, footprint by footprint, walking along rolling hills, we will encounter places where everyday life intertwines with the supernatural and the afterlife. The forms will guide us and weave the threads of a narrative that unfolds among hypogea, burial niches, and dovecotes on the banks of the rivers that have made life and abundance possible for the indigenous populations.
