Ciclovia Adriatica
The Adriatic Cycle Route is more than just a cycling itinerary: it's a slow journey along over 1,700 km of Italian coastline, a thread connecting seven regions, telling stories of sea, villages, scents, and tranquility. Created by Bicitalia (route BI6), this long adventure follows cycle paths and secondary roads, favoring authentic landscapes and routes that invite you to slow down.
It all begins in Trieste (CA 10 - Via del Carso), a city of wind, historic cafés, and frontiers, and ends in Santa Maria di Leuca, called by the Romans "de finibus terrae," indicating the southernmost border of Roman territory, meaning, precisely, "at the edge of the earth."
The final stretch of the Adriatic Cycle Route (CA 80 - Via del Salento) starts in Monopoli, passes through Lecce and Otranto, crossing an increasingly Mediterranean landscape of olive trees, dry stone walls, and white houses, before reaching Santa Maria di Leuca, also the arrival point of the Via Francigena del Sud.
